Blue 2 Day - Advisory

Many basketball coaches from around the State are coming to PCHS this Saturday at 6:00 pm to play in a benefit basketball game. This year the recipient of the money raised will be the Aliza Jean Family Cancer Foundation. Last year in Milo this game raised approximately $6,000.00 at the game and about $11,000.00 over all. A large amount of that money raised actually came from the Aliza Jean Foundation itself. 100% of the money the Aliza Jean Family Cancer Foundation earns stays in Maine for Maine families. We are hoping to come close to that amount of money raised again this year. The event starts at 6:00pm

Women's History Month

(To be read by Mya Y.)

Louisa May Alcott summary: Louisa May Alcott was an American writer who authored over 30 books and short-story collections and wrote poetry as well. Little Women, her most famous book, was a novel for girls. Written in 1868, it departed from the existing  practice of idealized and/or stereotypical children in books meant for young readers. Instead, it offered a fully realized young heroine in the spirited character of tomboy Jo March. Little Women remains a beloved classic of children's literature today.

Announcement

The Middle School Civil Rights Team would like to announce a few activities going on this spring.

Our first is called the Spring Hat Parade. How this works is that students are asked to donate $1 to the Heavenly Hats Foundation for the privilege of wearing your favorite hat during the school day. The tentative date for this activity is April 8th. The proceeds are used to provide and ship hats to cancer patients across America.

Second, there is a need by the Riverside Crisis Unit in Brewer of new and gently used pajama bottoms and sweatpants. Clients often arrive without sleepwear or anything to wear while washing their clothes. Any donations you have of new or used sweatpants or pajama bottoms, in any color or size would be appreciated.

Third, March is Woman's History Month! Have you ever heard of Jane Goodall? As a primatologist who researched chimpanzee behavior in the country of Tanzania, she has spent decades of her life recording the complex social structure and organization in primate communities.

The Middle School Civil Rights Team appreciates your support!
