Gold 2 day - RTI

Remind Students of the procedures for RTI

We say farewell to a wonderful member of the PCCS family today. If you get a chance to say goodbye to Mrs. Thibeault she is calling it a career and leaving us for retirement. We wish her good luck and many happy relaxing days. We hope she visits us often.

We also have to bid farewell to Mr. Miller. Has done an excellent job filling in for Mrs. Gregory and we are thankful for his service. Let's hope we haven't seen the last of him.

Gold 1 Day- Advisory

Good Luck to our Juniors and Sophomores taking their PSAT today. This test is an important predictor for how well a student would do with the SAT. This is a test that juniors and seniors take that gives college information about how well they have achieved in their academics over their k-12 schooling. High SAT scores help students get into the colleges that they want to attend.

Read Dr. Bartley's Announcements

Best of luck to the HS Boys soccer team today as they travel to Fort Kent for a quarter final match against the Warriors of the county. The soccer team is dismissed at 9:40 today. Teachers please let these athletes go at this time. We will not be making that announcement due to testing.  SOCCER players, you must enter the locker room from the hallway and not the gym. Do not interrupt PSAT testing when you get your equipment for the game!

Safe travels today for the second half of the seventh grade as they journey down to the Challenger center in Bangor today.

Flag Football today

Tomorrow the jr maine guide Pirate Special is hosting a game sampler cooking event for the cooking PS and the AMC PS. If you are a student in these two PS you must eat first lunch and then report to the south end of the HS Field Hockey team after you eat. At this time the weather is not looking good, however, we need to have any student who was intending on bringing in some meat for the event to still do that. We will keep the meat in the freezer here at PCSS and look to a time where we can reschedule. If we can not reschedule we will let people know to bring their game home.

Lunch today is a Meatball Sub

Gold 1 Day - Pirate Specials

We are eating the two lunch schedule today. Remember the bells are off so please proceed to lunch at the end of Period 3 if your Pirate special dictates that. First lunch ends at 11:53 and the second lunch is at 12:03. Second lunch ends at 12:28.

A correction of the record on our semi final bound HS field Hockey team:

The last time the  field hockey team went to the Quarterfinals was in 2012, when the current group of seniors were Freshmen.

The last time the PCHS Field Hockey  went to a semifinal game was in 2006, when they beat Winthrop in the quarterfinals 4-2.  That team went on to play Stearns in the Semi's, but lost 1-0.   Stearns won the Eastern Maine Championship that year.

The #10 seeded PCHS boys soccer team will travel to #7 Limestone on Saturday for their Northern Maine Class C preliminary game. Game time 2:00. They will depart from PCHS at 9:00.

Quote of the day appropriate for Banned Books week

“If this nation is to be wise as well as strong, if we are to achieve our destiny, then we need more new ideas for more wise men reading more good books in more public libraries. These libraries should be open to all—except the censor. We must know all the facts and hear all the alternatives and listen to all the criticisms. Let us welcome controversial books and controversial authors. For the Bill of Rights is the guardian of our security as well as our liberty.

John F Kennedy
