Gold 2 Day - ADVISORY  - READING FOR LIFE DAY

During the second quarter the Thursday SPARK activity will be READING for LIFE. I sent an email out all regarding this yesterday. You need to report to your SPARK room and be prepared to read for 30 minutes. Research is clear about how beneficial it is to read. It build fluency, vocabulary, general knowledge and literacy proficiency. We allow any type of reading but it may not be on a screen of any sort. ALL reading must be done with books magazines texts manuals etc in paper and ink. All teachers have been asked to do the same and we as a whole school will be collectively reading for the entire quarter. We are now going on the three lunch schedule for Thursday's as well. So we will be using the same lunch schedule as we do for Monday - Wednesday for Thursday's as well.

We do have one exception and it will be the only one we allow during the Reading for life period. But due to the weeatehr last week the AMC group and the Jr. Maine guide group is meeting out near the HS field Hockey field for their Guide Dinner activity. The cooking group is not coming today as originally planned as Mr. Bitetti is not here. Those students in Jr. Maine Guide and AMC need to eat first lunch and then scoot on out right after.

Flag Football permission slips are due at the end of the day today. If you intend to go you must have the form in TODAY!!! Mr. Keane needs to send the list to UMAINE by the end of the day.

Don't forget that if you drive a vehicle to school you need to get a permit in the office.

Lunch today is Pizza

Quote of the day is a Historical one about this day in history

Remember, remember!
    The fifth of November,
    The Gunpowder treason and plot;
    I know of no reason
    Why the Gunpowder treason
    Should ever be forgot!
    Guy Fawkes and his companions
    Did the scheme contrive,
To blow the King and Parliament
    All up alive.
    Threescore barrels, laid below,
    To prove old England's overthrow.
But, by God's providence, him they catch,
With a dark lantern, lighting a match!
    A stick and a stake
    For King James's sake!
If you won't give me one,
    I'll take two,
    The better for me,
    And the worse for you.
A rope, a rope, to hang the Pope,
A penn'orth of cheese to choke him,
A pint of beer to wash it down,
And a jolly good fire to burn him.
Holloa, boys! holloa, boys! make the bells ring!
Holloa, boys! holloa boys! God save the King!
    Hip, hip, hooor-r-r-ray!
